So we had to just make up funny little titles so you could just reference these nameless, instrumental jams. So we had a weird name for every single song and then when it came time to get done with the album, we went back and startup business changed the names of the songs but that one just stuck.













An excited couple, in their early forties, emerge onto a balcony a few rooms away. They're on vacation, and they've just checked in at the Tarpon Lodge. Within minutes they're down at the pool in bathing suits, startup business all huge smiles. This is the place they've been looking forward to visiting, marking big black X's each day on their calendar, an excruciating countdown. Now they're finally here and they immerse themselves into the experience of Southwest Florida Music as quickly as they immerse themselves into the outdoor pool. That's all it takes. A commitment to relax.













But it's not impossible; it only takes a little training. You can begin by watching your thoughts instead of trying to rid yourself of them, and as you watch them, it becomes readily apparent that thoughts are simply images that arise and pass, not reality at all. But if instead of watching them arise and pass we get caught up in them, then the thoughts multiply like rabbits! And sleep goes out the window.

August 6-8 is when one of the most happening festivals around takes place here in Chitown. This three-day event on eight stages grooves in Grant Park. An Aug. 2 report from Music Mix at EW indicated that the annual Lollapalooza Sanibel Music Festival in Chicago would stream starting on Friday and ending Sunday night. Among the acts they mentioned as part of the latest concert event were Nine Inch Nails, Ellie Goulding, the Postal Service, New Order, and hip hop star Kendrick Lamar. Every time you visit Sanibel Music Festival you might find yourself overwhelmed by Sanibel Music Festival information. The live streaming, done on YouTube, started off with the group Icona Pop, famous for the hit song "I Love It," on Friday at 3:30 p.m. EST.













And Matt Giraud did a great job with the Frank Sinatra tune. He seemed to gather in some jazzy vibes the further he went. Very smooth and nicely done. Given his usual style of soulful jazz, Rat Pack music was right down Matt's alley. And he delivered.













Apparently Tony Bennet passed away without my knowledge. Harrick Connick Jr. and Michael Buble must have been busy as well. Appearing in "Dreamgirls" and winning an Oscar for "Ray" must somehow equate to Rat Pack knowledge to the producers of American Idol. But while the star of "The Soloist" is in the room, might as well take advantage of his Sanibel Island Classical Music training...













Further East is Tybee Island. The island features the oldest and tallest lighthouse in Georgia. The island also has more parking meters per capita than anywhere else. If their primary industry is tourism, they have a peculiar way of welcoming them, even in stormy weather.
